We are a very friendly organisation whose activities are focused on a number of interest groups. Subjects covered vary considerably and can be see by clicking on "Group Activities" in the Menu to the left.

ChairA Message from the Chair

Dear all, I mentioned in my last letter that we were planning something special to celebrate the Queen's jubilee year- we have decided to do this at our AGM on July 11th, when we will have a special jubilee tea and topical entertainment.  I hope that many of you will be able to attend what is often thought as a tedious but nevertheless a most important part of U3A business, and which potentially affects us all.  I hope it will be a real celebration.  On May 28th I will be attending the launch meeting of a potential new U3A in Thrapston, which is good news.  Oundle U3A, which is relatively new, now has over 400 members, so I think Thrapston will do very well.  We are certainly a very popular and fast growing organisation, and it is good to be part of it.

Best wishes, Wendy

The groups vary in size and they determine their own course of study under a chosen leader. There are no formal lectures and members are encouraged to share in a joint process of learning and discovery. Most groups use members homes to host Group meetings and this adds to the friendly informal atmosphere.

The main U3A monthly meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at the Ise Lodge Community Centre, St Vincent's Avenue, Kettering to which we invite guest speakers who cover a wide range of topics; the current programme can be viewed by choosing "What's On" on the Menu Bar.  The atmosphere is always welcoming and friendly and refreshments are available.

All activities are covered in a regular newsletter published each month and the last newsletter can be viewed by selecting "Magazine" on the Menu.
